The Moth Stares Back #POTD

This pretty little moth was hanging out on my door this morning. Insects don't have eyelids so I wonder how different their sleep is. Or perhaps they don't sleep at all. They are just quiescent, seeing everything, just waiting for their time to reactivate and do their insect thing.

Feed Me! #POTD My little pet Venus Fly Trap is not doing so hot. Put out some very interesting flowers but bits of it are going black and dying. I was hoping it would take care of the ubiquitous fruit flies around but they've been scarce so maybe it is doing its job. I tried to feed it an ant but it just crawled out.Though it was remarkable how quickly it closed on it. May try something a little bigger if I can find something. First Tomato #POTD This guy is some brown variety of tomatoes. An hierloom we believe but somehow the little tag we so carefully put with the pot so that we couldn't forget has upped and run off. We've not tried the tomato yet, but we fully intend to. We picked up a selection of tomatoes from a tomato celebration close to us. So we're growing a bunch new to us. We'll see how they go.
